Lizzy Academy: learning that keeps up with the product

Lizzy keeps changing, and it is easy to miss what changed. Lizzy Academy is an open weekly session for learning the product as it grows, and for asking questions along the way.

Using a tool is not the same as knowing it

Most people learn Lizzy in their first week and then stop. They find a way of working that returns an acceptable result, and they keep it. It works, so there is no reason to look further. The habits formed in that first week quietly become the ceiling on what the product can do for them.

Meanwhile the product moves. Capabilities arrive that would have saved time on the matter closed last week, and nobody hears about them at the moment they would have mattered. Options go unused because no one knew they were there. The distance between using Lizzy and getting the most out of it is mostly a distance of knowledge, and it widens on its own. That is why we built Lizzy Academy.

What Lizzy Academy is

Lizzy Academy is a series of open weekly sessions about working with Lizzy. Some cover the fundamentals of AI and the basics of the system, for people who are still finding their way around. Others go into the more advanced capabilities, for people who already use Lizzy every day. Every session leaves room for questions, for discussion, and for learning from how other people work.

It is not an onboarding course you complete once and forget. It runs alongside the product, and what it covers changes as Lizzy changes.

What the sessions cover

The programme opens with three:

• Getting started with Lizzy. A first introduction to the system: how to begin, and how to fold Lizzy into daily work in a way that holds up.
• Agent workshop. How to work with Lizzy's Agent Mode, what it is good for, and the tasks where it helps most.
• What is new in Lizzy. An open conversation about what is coming: the features on the way, and the directions the product is taking.

Trial and error is a slow way to learn a product

The obvious alternative is to pick it up as you go. That works, up to a point. Each person builds a private and partial picture of the product. The same wrong turns get taken across a team because nobody compares notes. The newest capabilities end up the least used, which is the opposite of what should happen.

A standing session changes the default. There is one place where a question gets an answer, one place where new capabilities are shown before you stumble into them, and one place where your way of working meets someone else's. What you do with Lizzy on a given matter is still your judgment. The Academy only makes sure you are exercising it with the full picture of what the product can do.
